 Chapter 1.04. CODE

§ 1.04.010. Definitions.

  • References and terms as used in this code, unless the context otherwise plainly requires, shall have the meanings hereinafter provided:

    (1)

    PERSON includes natural persons, partnerships, associations, organizations, and corporations.

    (2)

    Masculine gender includes the feminine and neuter.

    (3)

    Words used in the singular number include the plural; and the plural, the singular.

    (4)

    GOVERNING BODY refers to board of city commissioners of the City of Huron.

    (5)

    CITY or MUNICIPALITY refer to the City of Huron.

    (6)

    The provisions, regulations, restrictions, requirements, and prohibitions contained in this code apply to the area within the territorial limits of the City of Huron, unless otherwise specifically provided.

    (7)

    Reference to any office or officer is to an office or officer of the City of Huron, unless otherwise specifically provided.

    (8)

    The powers conferred on an officer may be exercised by his duly authorized deputy, representative, or employee acting under him, unless otherwise provided.

    (9)

    STREET includes alley, avenue, drive, boulevard, and traveled road.

    (10)

    LOT includes tract or parcel of ground.
