§ 3.02.014. Health insurance.

Persons employed by the city of Huron are eligible to participate in a health insurance program arranged by the city. Employees may participate if they desire. This health insurance is provided with the following provisions:

A.

City employees may elect to enroll in the health insurance group arranged by the city of Huron;

B.

Effective in 2014, the city will pay for employee single coverage for whichever option within the health insurance program arranged by the city that an employee chooses;

C.

Employees who choose to participate in the health insurance program will be enrolled in the insurance program on the first day of the month following thirty (30) calendar days of full time employment;

D.

Health insurance is available only for full-time employees of the city of Huron;

E.

The employee's health insurance with the city of Huron will be canceled as of the last day of the month with the city whether the employee resigns, retires, quits or is discharged.
