§ 11.16.120. Permit and traffic control safety devices required.

  • (a)

    (1)

    No person except an employee or agent of the city shall plant, transplant, or remove any tree or shrub located on the boulevard/right of way within the city without first obtaining from the director of parks and recreation a written permit for such work;

    (2)

    Persons owning property adjacent to the boulevard/right of way or public utilities, or their respective agents, are not required to obtain the permit required pursuant to Section 11.16.120(a) to spray, brace, trim or prune any tree or shrub located on the boulevard/right of way.

    (b)

    Any person planting, transplanting, moving, spraying, bracing, trimming, pruning, cutting above or below the ground, disturbing, altering or do surgery on any tree or shrub located on the boulevard/right of way and in a manner in which vehicular traffic may be impeded or endangered shall contact the traffic department prior to doing such work. The traffic department shall determine the date and time for such work and provide appropriate traffic control safety devices as may be necessary during the period of such work.
